This month, I will be reading A Thousand Pieces of You by Claudia Gray. I bought this book ages ago in the “Teen” section of the book store, and never got around to reading it, so here I am! I never realized that this was the first book in a trilogy, so if I end up enjoying the book then I might commit to the whole trilogy! We will see.
A Thousand Pieces of You is about a girl named Marguerite whose parents are extremely talented physicists. Her mother has invented technology that allows people to travel to different worlds and dimensions, which of course does not go well after a while. Marguerite’s father is murdered, and the murderer escapes by using this technology to jump to different dimensions. Marguerite is determined to bring justice to her father’s killer, so with the help of a friend she goes on a journey to try and capture him.
I’m really interested to see how this book turns out! The past decade or so has definitely been filled with its fair share of teen dystopia novels that have an element of romance and tragedy involved, so I’m intrigued to see if this book brings something new to that genre. Growing up I absolutely loved those kinds of books (The Hunger Games, the Uglies series, etc.) and I’m excited to read a new one and see if I still enjoy them!
As always, feel free to read along with me or let me know what you thought of this book if you’ve read it before! I’m hopeful that I’ll actually finish this book by the end of the month, so be sure to check back in at the end of March to see what I thought!
