Book of the Month | February

This month, I will be reading A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman. I had bought this book for my mom for Christmas, without realizing that she had already seen a movie-version of it and already knew the story. I briefly contemplated just returning the book, but decided to keep it instead. The summary on the back of the book sounded so interesting to me that I decided I wanted to read it for this month!

A Man Called Ove is about a grumpy old man whose strict routines get interrupted when some new, boisterous neighbors move in. I’m sure we have all encountered people like Ove at some point in our lives. The back of the book said the story is about how these new neighbors change Ove’s life, and how their interactions give the community a new perspective on who Ove is. It’s so easy to make assumptions about people or believe they can’t change, so I’m interested to see what happens in this book!

I am hopeful that I will be able to finish this book in just one month (I haven’t read much in a while), but we’ll see! Feel free to pick up a copy of this book and read along with me, or tell me what you thought of it if you’ve already read it (but no spoilers, please). At the end of the month I’ll write a review saying how far I got and what I thought of the book, so keep an eye out for that!
