It’s been so long since my last post! The holidays can be such a crazy time of year. I have been spending a lot of time shopping and trying to spend time with family and friends. Sometimes it feels like I haven’t had the chance to slow down, take a breath, and enjoy myself in a while.
Something that has been hard for me to learn is how to put aside others and just focus on yourself sometimes. Of course it’s important to be there and be helpful when people need it but…you need it too. Especially during a time of year that is so focused on giving to others and spending your time with family, it’s easy to lose track of what you need to do for yourself. Not to say that you need to be selfish, but everyone deserves to pay attention to themselves once in a while.
These past few days I’ve been struggling with making everyone happy, and it’s been stressful! So today I decided to sleep in, put on a nice outfit for Christmas Eve dinner, and take just a few minutes to do things that I wanted, like cleaning my room and taking a bangin’ selfie (see my contacts page for my Instagram account if you want to see the glory) (it’s really not that great).
I hope you remember to take some time to focus on yourself when you can. Even if it’s just hiding away for a minute to take some breaths or wearing an outfit that makes you feel good. It will help you boost your confidence, re-energize, and be able to focus on enjoying time with family and friends.
With that, Merry Christmas, Happy (late) Hanukkah, and enjoy any other holidays you may celebrate!
